top picture: late night out on lake charrlet right on top of a 16 foot drop off onto a semi sandy bottom. was useing the vexilar to time my jigging while using smaller crappie minnows and wax worms.
Bottom picture: bringing home the nights catch from pelican lake, we were using crappie minnows and slowly jigging them in a weedy bottom in about 9 feet of water.
How in tarnation do them vexilars accully work?
ReplyDeleteWhere is Lake Charrlet located? And what is a vexilar? Great pictures!
ReplyDeletehey i like the pic of clints fish
ReplyDeletedillon those are my fish..the bottom picture was me and you one night from pelican and the top was me and cameron on charlet. a vexilar is a sonar system much like a depth finder/fish finder on a boat, it puts off little soundwaves that shoot down to the bottom and come back to the sensor, then the sensor tells the (modem) screen what and were everything is. they use three main colors red/green and yellow. red are non moving things. yellow are things on the bottom of the lake that are moving and green are fish and other moving things( your bait will show up red on the screen becuse it isnt moving but when you jig it will move up and down the screen, witch is the reason that they are so effective becuse you can tell if the fish are coming to your bait and you can see what you should do to get their attion or see when to set the hook..( i might be off on the colors on the screen becuse i cant remember the order but it gives you the overall view of it)
